What is LAANC?
LAANC, or Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability system (L.A.A.N.C.), allows U.S. commercial drone operators to obtain automatic permissions.
Does DroneBase participate in LAANC authorizations?
LAANC authorization is available for DroneBase Pilots and is powered by AirMap, an approved LAANC UAS service supplier.
How does it work?
DroneBase Pilots can apply for automated, digital approval to fly in certain U.S. controlled airspace using the DroneBase App. When available, LAANC approval will appear under "Mission Details". Please applying for approval well in advance of your flight date.
Once you request and get approved via AirMap, AirMap will send DroneBase the unique "LAANC Authorization Number" and show it on DroneBase.
What information is needed for LAANC?
- First/Last Name
- Phone Number
- Flight Date/Time
- Flight Altitude
- Drone Type
- Drone Weight
- Drone Flight Speed
If you are not approved for flight, please check to ensure the above information is accurate, then resubmit for approval. You can visit AirMap's FAQ for more information and troubleshooting assistance.
